How Will You Get Involved?

It’s all our church. We encourage you to design your Saint Luke’s experience around you and your family. We have something for everyone, and it begins by getting involved. Live your faith, practice practical compassion, extend hospitality, nurture faith and utilize the talents God gave each of us in his service.

As you think of how you and your family might want to participate more in the community that is Saint Luke’s, consider these ministries.

Outreach

Service in Birmingham and Beyond

Each year, our grant program supports organizations in Birmingham and Alabama that work to feed the hungry, support unhoused people, give access to medical care, and provide education for all ages. We also support our community partners by collecting needed items and volunteering our time. Our weekly E-Dialogue includes volunteer opportunities. Click here to sign-up. For more information about our outreach efforts, contact The Rev. Becca Walton at bwalton@saint-lukes.com.

Inreach

Become an usher, acolyte or welcome minister

It takes both clergy and congregational volunteers to make services on Sunday special. Join an usher team, become an acolyte or just help us welcome everyone to church each Sunday. Email volunteer@saint-lukes.com to get involved.

Children’s Ministry

Children’s Chapel

Each Sunday we need volunteers to go with the children to children’s chapel at the 9 am and 11 am service. We ask that parents of children that attend (3 years – 2nd grade) volunteer once per semester. This is also a great way for grandparents to be involved. Email children@saint-lukes.com to learn more.

Youth Ministry

EYC, Youth Bible Study, Confirmation

Throughout the year, we need parent volunteers to provide food, snacks, drinks, and support for our junior and senior high activities. Email youth@saint-lukes.com to ask how you can help minister to our teenagers.

Kitchen Ministry

Weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays

Grace with taste! The kitchen feeds hundreds each Wednesday for drive thru dinner and on Sunday we have breakfast available all day. Not a cook, no worries we have one. We need you to help service and box up dinner on Wednesday and Sunday. Email kitchen@saint-lukes.com to get on the schedule.

Founders Place

Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 am – 2 pm

This respite ministry for Adults with Memory Loss is so much fun and full of energy. You can volunteer once a month or each week. There is an initial training offered to help you understand what the program entails and how best you can support those that attend. For more information email volunteer@saint-lukes.com.
