Mid-Week Offerings

Jericho Road: Living Water  Many of us want to read the Bible, but we just don’t know how. As a result, we stick with cherished stories or phrases while another thousand pages goes unread and unloved. This semester, under the theme of living water, we will explore God’s Holy Word, seldom encountered people and corners of Scripture to find stories with remarkable application and relevance for us today. This study meets in person on Sunday mornings during the 10 o’clock fellowship hour. In addition, the study releases every Monday morning via the Saint Luke’s podcast. To listen, simply search Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church or Jericho Road on your apple podcast app. To receive emails specific to this semester’s Jericho Road study, please contact kclinton@saint-lukes.com.

Beginning Sunday, September 18. Open to all ages at 6:00pm in Rm 214. We will meet the 1st & 3rd Sundays of the month, and you can drop in any week- nothing to prepare ahead of time. No Other Gods: The Unrivaled Pursuit of Christ – Our lives revolve around our deepest needs and greatest treasures. Relationships. Family. Financial security. Private hopes and dreams. Most of our desires are healthy. Yet these longings can become passions we not only pursue, but worship. In this eight week study, discover the freedom in surrender, the healing in worship, and the joy found in exchanging everyday gods for the one true God. This study by Kelly Minter is open to all women. Monday evenings from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. beginning September 19 in the Tilson Room. Led by Patty Gilbert. Contact Patty for more information! 205-821-4424 or Pattyggilbert@gmail.com. We hope to see you there!

Women’s Bible Study: Starting August 31st, Saint Luke’s will offer a weekday women’s bible study for all ages! Facilitated by Jennifer Coltharp and Stacie Tubb — this group meets on Wednesdays in the Tilson Room, from 9 to 10:30am. Please email Jennifer at jbfranklin26@gmail.com if you’re interested in attending. We are excited to learn alongside you!

Sacred Ground is a sensitive and prayerful resource that allows for respectful dialogue on race and racism. It is part of Becoming Beloved Community the Episcopal Church’s long-term commitment to racial healing, reconciliation and justice in our personal lives ministries and community. It is an 11 week program of documentary films and written material that allow for group discussion- a study group essentially. Participants are invited to peel away layers that may have contributed to the challenges and divides of the present time-all while grounded on or call to faith and hope. Meetings will be held on Sundays from 3-4:30 and will be co-led by Barbara Johnson and Chris Hecklemeyer. Participation will be limited to 12 people and open to members of other faiths.
