A Founders Place Story with Kevin and Kim…
Watch and listen as husband and wife Kevin and Kim Chiselko share their Founders Place story as participant and caregiver. Despite the lifechanging difficulties that Alzheimer’s disease has brought, they share how they have found joy, community, and belonging in this unanticipated season. When a shattering diagnosis tried to steal so much from them, they breathe again knowing they have renewed purpose, joy, and connection. Kim says, “He felt like it was home….I did too.” After Kevin’s diagnosis, Kim says, “Now I say we rely on faith, family, friends, and Founders Place.” We are grateful for the joy and energy they bring to Founders Place as they walk this journey.
About Founders Place
Founders Place is a ministry of Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church that seeks to end the isolation of dementia with an enlivening, joyful respite program (2 half days per week), a weekly caregiver support group, and community education events.
Through visual art, movement, music, storytelling, games and fellowship, Founders Place respite program stimulates cognition, nurtures growth, and provides purpose and meaning for participants with memory challenges, as well as dedicated volunteers who serve as intentional companions. “Care Partners” weekly support group for caregivers offers a safe space for confidential discussion, listening, and education.
Together, Founders Place respite program, Care Partners weekly support group, and our community education events foster a community of connection, education and care.
