Chair & Standing Routines with weights
Mondays & 1st, 3rd, 5th Wednesdays

This lively class of chair and standing exercises incorporates weights, scarves, balls, hoola hoops and stretch bands. The focus is on maintaining and improving strength, balance and coordination. Successful participation includes the ability to stand and sit without assistance.

Searchers Lunch & Learn
Searchers is a group for all “seasoned” and senior adults. Searchers meet on the 2nd Monday of each month (Sept-May) at 11:00am for lunch, a presentation and fellowship. Searchers is a wonderful way to engage in the life of St. Luke’s and make connections with others. Friends are always welcome! Bridge
We love Bridge! Beginner and seasoned Bridge players all invited to join our vibrant community of ‘Bridge Buddies’! We have class instruction every week by our wonderful teacher Jeanne Wamack for beginner and intermediate levels ($10 per class). Open Play is offered 2x per week for experienced players (all players must know how to play for this session!). Founders Place Volunteers
Founders Place is Saint Luke’s JOY-FILLED respite ministry for adults with memory challenges. Volunteers serve as intentional companions and assistants for adults with dementia. Volunteers must be able to smile, laugh and have fun! Training is provided and commitment is flexible. Sessions are Tuesdays & Thursdays 10am-2pm. Creative Hands
Creative Hands is a sewing ministry open to all novice and accomplished knitters. This sweet group meets the 2nd Thursday of each month for a brown bag lunch, knitting, and fellowship. The prayer-filled projects include prayer squares, shawls, hats, and scarves for people in need or crisis. Support Group
Care Partners is a community support group for anyone caring for a loved one with a form of dementia. You do not need to be a member of Founders Place or Saint Luke’s to participant. Care Partners meets every Tuesday 10:15-11:15am. This group offers a safe space for confidential discussion, listening, and education. Please contact Betsy Smith at smith35213@gmail.com
Community Services
Clergy from the Birmingham Convocation of the Diocese of Alabama work together to provide worship services at several area retirement communities. All are welcome to attend these services.
- Episcopal Place, weekly Episcopal service at 3:15pm each Wednesday in the lobby, served by clergy from the Birmingham area, with Saint Luke’s every first Wednesday
- Kirkwood by the River, weekly Episcopal service each Sunday at 3:30pm in the Chapel, served by priests from the Birmingham area, with Saint Luke’s every third Sunday
- Brookdale University Park, Episcopal service every second Sunday at 2pm in the Gazebo Room
- St. Martin’s in the Pines, Episcopal service every fourth Sunday at 2pm in the Chapel

Ministries
The mission of the Foundation is to manage gifts, memorials, and bequests for St. Luke’s Church for purposes and uses that support the long-term goals and needs of the Church and its facilities. The Foundation shall not be an ever-growing store of funds, but an ever-growing use of funds in support of St. Luke’s.
